Early careers in recruitment - Roles and responsibilities

Early Careers in recruitment roles and responsibilities

Are you excited by the fast-paced working environment, varied role and people-focused career that working in recruitment can offer? Then read on to discover more about the daily roles, responsibilities and activities of Hays consultants.

  • Finding the best candidates

In order to ensure they have a number of great candidates to recommend for a new role, a recruitment consultant will go through the CVs of people who have applied - before contacting those with the right technical skills to find out more about them.

  • Securing new business

Attending client meetings / calls with colleagues is a great way for recruitment consultants to learn more about what makes an organisation tick, and better understand what kind of candidate will be best able to contribute positively to the team.

  • Learning and development

Continuous growth and development are central tenants at Hays. Recruitment consultants will spend time undergoing formal training programmes with colleagues in the UAE, as well as on-the-job learning and coaching sessions.

  • Being a lifelong career-partner

Calling candidates you have recently placed in roles to check they are settling in is vital. Not only is it important to ensure both employer and new employee are a good 'fit' for each other, but it helps foster a strong, authentic relationship - ensuring that Hays consultants become a professional's go-to career-partner throughout their life.

  • Becoming an expert

Hays regularly produces market-leading reports, guides and blogs all about the world of work. In order to truly be 'experts', consultants should read these and stay abreast of the latest trends, legislations and changes that are affecting their market.

  • Getting to know your colleagues

Being part of a great workplace culture is not just something we simply talk about, but something we encourage. Ask any consultant, and they will tell you that the opportunities to meet and socialise with colleagues are plentiful, and an enjoyable part of their daily work routine.
